Name: Tiger & Bunny (タイガー・アンド・バニー)
Genre: Superhero, Comedy
Dub/Sub: Dub
My Rating: 8.5/10
Superhero animes are somewhat rare, and good ones are even rarer, so I'm glad I ended up giving this one a chance. Tiger & Bunny takes place in the futuristic city of Sternbild where those born with extraordinary powers, known as NEXTs, have the opportunity to become heroes. Of course, becoming a hero is not all fame and saving people as the heroes of Sternbild must also take into account their popularity ranking, ratings on Hero TV, and pleasing the sponsors whose logos adorn their supersuits. Kotetsu Kaburagi (AKA Wild Tiger) who is considered to be past his prime and no longer very popular, makes up half of the hero-duo, alongside Barnaby Brooks Jr. who stands out amongst his peers for choosing to use his real name instead of hiding his true identity. Shocked to learn that he and Barnaby have the exact same NEXT power, Kotetsu quickly decides they're not going to get along. However, despite their mutual animosity it's decided by their hero company that Barnaby and Kotetsu could be more marketable as a pair, and therefore must work together as the first hero-duo.
SPOILERS HERE! I love this show (•_•). I'm on season 2, and I love seeing all the new hero-duos trying to work out their issues and become better partners. It's so sweet. Tiger & Bunny really just checks all the boxes for me when it comes to character dynamics too. Kotetsu and Barnaby's comedic "rivalry" that turns into a genuine and mutual bond is so entertaining and well-done. I just wish we could have seen more Fugan and Mugan as I thought they were really interesting and fun antagonists.

My Rating: 7.5/10
I'm mostly watching this anime for studying Japanese so it's not too high on my watchlist priority. A cute, feel-good anime about a lazy panda bear named Panda-kun, who really needs a part-time job. After being scolded by his mother one too many times, Panda-kun stumbles across Polar Bear Cafe while on a walk and decides to take on an interview.
